Medaco has worked for many years as the Regional representative for Foxboro (as a continuation from Leeds & Northrup, acquired by Foxboro) in the electrical utility SCADA market throughout the Middle East, Africa, Greece and Cyprus. Medaco and Foxboro have successfully worked for the installation of numerous projects, particularly in Saudi Arabia, where a very significant market share has been achieved. The company manufactures a complete range of instrumentation, management software, hydraulic safety valves and control panels for storage terminals and gas caverns, as well as pneumatic safety valves for truck transportation applications. Key customers include the Public Gas Corporation of Greece (DEPA) where Whessoe have provided the complete tank gauging system for the Revithoussa LNG terminal.

Marine Applications

Medaco's Regional Administration office in Greece is located close to the international shipping center of Piraeus, and the company is therefore well placed to serve the needs of the industry. We work closely with a small number of highly experienced Principals, each having many years of experience in marine applications. All products and systems are Class approved for marine use and a strong emphasis is placed on customer service.

Dresser-Rand A/S, (http://www.dresser-rand.no) based in Kongsberg, Norway, manufactures gas turbines for continuous or stand-by power generation. The company has a broad experience in the marine market, including ship-board stand-by power applications, and power generation for off-shore platforms. Medaco exclusively represent Dresser-Rand A/S in Greece and Cyprus; whilst in Egypt, Medaco serves certain end-use markets.



Invensys Foxboro (http://www.foxboro.com) is part of the Invensys Production Management Division and provides world class automation solutions to the marine industry. The company possesses particular experience for LNG carriers and offshore applications. Foxboro has supplied 90% of the LNG carriers currently in service with Custody Transfer Systems (CTS), based on its capacitance level measurement technology. Foxboro's I/A Distributed Control System (DCS) is widely used on LNG carriers and for offshore applications such as FPSO's (Floating Production Storage Offloading vessels).

 

Seatechnik (http://www.seatechnik.com), based in the United Kingdom is a specialist supplier of instrumentation to the marine shipping industry. The company's products include torsion meters for ship propeller shafts, and ship-shore emergency communication systems for LNG applications. Seatechnik have an extensive reference list, with its torsion meters being installed on many vessel types, and the ship-shore systems being widely used in the LNG industry.
